The Casio CTK 4000 is a wonderful keyboard that offers a lot of value and a lot of fun features at a very attractive price. If you are new to playing music, you'll find fun games to help you get off to a great start, and if you already have some skills, you'll be able to build on those.
You'll find 61 touch-responsive keys with 2 levels of sensitivity (or you can switch this function off). The keys are touch sensitive, but do not replicate the feel of an actual piano. (Don't expect to recreate runs of 32nd notes, however.You'll enjoy a nice selection of voicings, with some pretty piano sounds, and instruments from brass to strings to select from. There's a fun variety of onboard rhythms to choose from. With 180 at your disposal, you can add a lot of mood to your music.
There's an onboard set of lessons that allow you to learn new songs phrase by phrase for fun and learning. Input music from your mp3 and play along...Or, if you aspire to compose your own top ten hit, you'll find the MIDI interface to be a great composer's helper. Create your own music ruled by your own imagination with the CTK 4000.

The CTK series has more features oriented toward different sound registers and computer interfaces. It is small and easily portable, and is suitable for occasional transport and performance.
The CTK 4000 may NOT be the best choice for you if:You play a lot of intricate, quick runs (32nd notes)? You prefer a true acoustic piano feel.? You intend to become proficient on an acoustic piano, or to take lessons to an advanced level.? You need a heavy-duty keyboard for vigorous use. Your keyboard will get a lot of high impact use
For the most satisfying experience with your new keyboard, you'll probably want to add a keyboard stand and a sustain pedal, as neither are included with the basic package. It's no fun toting the keyboard around, trying to find just the right place to sit it, and you'll need the pedal to achieve an acceptable sound quality. You'll find it much more fun to play when you can adjust the keyboard height properly, and the sustain quality is important in getting the tone to sound just right as you play. Adding the bench is good, too, but not quite so vital as the adjustable stand.. Many retailers offer packages of these items, usually at a reduced price.
Most reviewers are very satisfied with the CTK series, noting very few dissatisfactions. The power supply failed in one instance, and another noted that the headphones, though they worked, weren't that wonderful. It was noted by one buyer that the headphones could be of higher quality, and a second said that the power supply had to be replaced soon after purchase All in all, however, the reviews are in and they are overwhelmingly favorable.
