Two Common Computer Repair Problems - Computers

Two common computer problems include a computer that fails to turn on and problem known as the "blue screen of death." If you experience either problem, listed below are tips on how to proceed.

When you rely on your computer for business and personal uses, one malfunction can throw a major wrench into your day-to-day routine. Some computer problems are easy to fix, but the issue is finding out the cause of the problem. No doubt must of us have had our fair share of frustrating phone conversations with computer tech support trying to diagnose a problem that is giving us grief. Sometimes the solution is simpler than we might think. Here are two of the most common computer problems and how to proceed.

The most common problem that computer repair technicians face is a computer that won't turn on. Sometimes the answer is simple: a cord may have become unplugged from a socket, a cord may be unplugged from the power supply, or the power supply on/off switch may have accidentally been tripped. So when you're computer won't turn on, check those things first. However, if all of those things check out and you're computer still won't turn on, don't panic. Most likely you can still recover your files. A piece of hardware may have failed, but it probably won't be your hard drive. It could be something as simple as a dead power supply, which is easy and cheap to replace. If you're a Windows user, another common problem is also referred to as the "Blue Screen of Death." This is a STOP error that occurs when Windows suffers a serious error and is forced to stop completely. Most STOP errors include a code that can be used to trace the problem. If you encounter this problem, call a com puter repair technician.
